ABOUT OUR SERVICES

Who can participate in Genesis Morgan Hill programs?

Our programs are open to all Black and Hispanic women who are 16 years or older, whether you’re pregnant, a new mother, or already have children. All services are free regardless of income. We also offer workshops for significant others and partners of Black and Hispanic women.

No, you don’t need to be a Morgan Hill resident. We serve Black and Hispanic women throughout the Bay Area and surrounding communities.

Yes, all our workshops, classes and support services are completely free. There are no hidden costs or fees.

Our programs are offered in both English and Spanish. We have bilingual staff and facilitators to ensure you’re comfortable and can fully participate.

REGISTRATION AND ENROLLMENT

How do I sign up for programs?

You can fill out our interest form on the website, and a program coordinator will contact you within 3-5 business days. You can also directly email us at

To refer another mother, you can share our website information with her or contact us with her permission and we’ll reach out to her directly. We also accept referrals from healthcare providers, social workers, and community organizations.

While our website provides valuable information and resources, signing up gives you access to personalized support, one-on-one consultations, structured workshops and classes, direct connection with our trained staff, priority notification about new programs, and connection with other mothers in your community. Enrolled participants also receive individualized resource referrals and ongoing support tailored to their specific needs.

You’ll receive an email confirmation within 24 hours, and a program coordinator will reach out within 3-5 business days to discuss your needs and available programs. We’ll schedule a brief consultation to match you with the best services.

No, you don’t have to participate in group sessions. We offer both individual support and group programs. Some participants prefer one-on-one consultations with our staff, while others enjoy the community aspect of group workshops. We’ll work with you to create a support plan that fits your comfort level and preferences.

While we encourage consistent attendance to get the most benefit, we understand life happens. We’ll work with you to make up missed sessions when possible.

Yes, childcare is provided for many of our programs when possible. Please let us know about childcare needs when you register.

PROGRAMS AND WORKSHOPS

What types of programs do you offer?

We offer prenatal workshops, postpartum support, parenting classes, mental health support, nutrition and wellness programs, and workshops for significant others. Visit our Workshops and Classes pages for detailed information.

Group meetings are offered both online and in-person to provide maximum flexibility for participants. All group meetings, workshops, and classes are completely free of charge. There are no costs or fees for any of our services.

We offer both virtual and in-person options for most programs, providing flexibility to meet your needs and schedule.

We offer a men’s workshop series specifically designed for fathers, expectant fathers, and men contemplating fatherhood. This program focuses on strengthening parenting skills, building character, effective communication, co-parenting strategies, and creating support systems. We also have couple-friendly workshops and resources to help partners support each other throughout the parenting journey.

SUPPORT AND RESOURCES

What kind of support staff do you have?

Our services are provided by experienced Family Health Advocates, Group Facilitators, Public Health Nurses, and Mental Health Workers who understand your cultural background and experiences.

Yes, many of our programs include individual consultation meetings and personalized support in addition to group workshops and classes.

We have Mental Health advocates on staff who can provide culturally competent support options. We understand the unique challenges Black and Hispanic mothers face and provide a safe, supportive environment.

Absolutely. We help participants access community resources, healthcare services, and other support systems that may benefit you and your family.

What You Can Do Next

Maternal & Infant Care forms our foundation, with specialized programs like Black Infant Health support groups, WIC nutrition and breastfeeding assistance,and  Comprehensive Perinatal Services. Family Health Services provide critical access to immunizations (COVID-19, flu, and childhood vaccines), prescription assistance, free health screenings, and culturally-specific programs through our African Ancestry Health initiative. Safety & Prevention Resources address the complete wellbeing of our families through sexual health services, STI/HIV testing and prevention, harm reduction programs, safe dating violence prevention, and mental health crisis support resources. Finally, Essential Documentation & Support Services help families navigate vital records like birth certificates and connection to community resources through centers like the Story Road Hub—ensuring that every mother in our community has access to the comprehensive care and support she needs to thrive.
